Site Specific Conditions. 1) The thinning prescription is to silviculturally thin compartments 15b and 15c to remove most of the larch and lightly thin the beech to improve the crop which is very badly squirrel damaged and a small area of birch 1st thinning (approx 0.5ha) which required lines removed every 15m and a selective thin of the matrix, sample plots will be marked prior to the tender. Also small area of Poplar to clearfell in compartment 14 adjacent to the main thinning area. 2) RDIA will be the landowners representative 3 The purchaser will be the Forest Works Manager and appoint a site safety co-ordinator. 4) The site is in close proximity but not adjacent to a public highway and has high levels of public access. There is a loading bay which is directly accessed off the A64. The extraction distance is approximately 600m along forest rides from the felling area to the loading bay 5) The terrain is generally quite flat and has easy working conditions however buyers should be aware of the following special conditions; a) There are some steep banks in the poplar felling area. b) There are public rights of way through the property and the area does have high levels of formal public access which the purchaser should manage with signs. c) There a numerous wet areas in the wood which should be avoided wherever possible. 6) Lop and Top, all lop and top material of less than 6 cm diameter to be cut through to a maximum length of 1.5 metres left clear of roads, rides, ditches, boundaries, protected vegetation and fences. 7) All other material over 6 cm is included in the sale and shall be removed from site. 8) Access cutting, non commercial trees and standing deadwood: the removal of trees, branches and bushes to allow ingress to be working site must be undertaken in a neat and tidy fashion, generally using a chainsaw or hand saw and the arisings must be cut and stacked neatly. Trees, branches and bushes may not be snapped, pushed over or bulldozed using harvesting machinery. Similarly, non commercial trees that impeded harvesting progress on the site must be cut and treated as lop and top. Standing deadwood trees must be left standing unless prior written consent is given to remove them. 9) All standing and lying deadwood and important habitat trees are EXCLUDED from the sale, these trees will be clearly identified by both parties prior to work commencing on site. 10) The purchaser will ensure that watercourses are not contaminated by fuel, oil, excessive volumes of earth or silt, and any chemicals used on the site, and that the F.C Forest and Water Guidelines will be adhered to. 11) Stumps are not to be treated with Urea. They are all to be kept as low as is reasonably practical (less than 150 mm) and large buttressed trees are to be reduced by manual chainsaw cutting if necessary. NOTE - Offcuts are considered merchantable timber and must be removed unless agreed otherwise by prior written consent. 12) A site meeting will be held prior to commencement of harvesting with the successful Purchaser to agree (and possibly mark) the detailed (secondary) extraction routes but in general these will be to the primary extraction routes as mapped on the harvesting map, avoiding watercourses, archaeological features, badger setts, identified hazards and other similar constraints. A site instruction card will be provided noting those features to be taken into account by the purchaser in their risk assessments. 13) The hazard and harvesting maps from part of the sale agreement and must be adhered to at all times. The harvesting map details the stacking areas, fuelling points, haulage routes, primary and secondary extraction routes and any other harvesting constraints, any changes to or deviation from the mapped plan must be agreed in writing beforehand. 14) All damage to the property must be made good or paid for by the Purchaser. The Purchaser will indemnify the Seller against any and all third party claims arising from the Purchasers operations and will provide and keep in forces appropriate insurance cover for the duration of the contract for no less than 5 million pounds sterling for public liability. 15) The harvesting operations must be completed without interruption,excepting normal work time stoppages and stoppages for service or repairs, bad weather or health and safety considerations. Prior written consent is required for all other interruptions. 16) The purchaser must give reasonable completion notice (at least 48 hrs) to the seller prior to leaving the site. 17) Upon completion of harvesting the Purchaser must ensure that any warning signs that have been put up are removed from the site, any waste (eg; oil / fuel drums, food and food packaging waste, machine servicing waste, etc ) is removed from site by the contract completion date or by a pre - agreed date. A charge will be made to the Purchaser for the removal of these items after this date. 18) The location map, harvesting plan and hazards and constraints map are available from oliver.combe@timberauctions.co.uk 19). Payment Terms and Conditions 1.Payment Terms: net monthly on receipt of vendors invoice and subject to satisfactory creditworthiness. 2. A refundable deposit of 5% of the sale value will be required by Mexborough Estates.(offer price x estimated quantity). 3. The successful purchaser will be required to pay a 1% buyers premium in addition to the bid price which must be paid prior to work commencing. 4.The estimates given above of the numbers, sizes, volumes and weights of the trees are given without warranty of any sort as to their accuracy . Persons offering for the timber must satisfy themselves as to the exact size and nature of the trees offered for sale. 5. All damage to the property must be made good or paid for by the Purchaser. The Purchaser will indemnify the Seller against any and all third party claims arising from the Purchasers operations and will provide and keep in forces appropriate insurance cover for the duration of the contract for no less than 5 million pounds sterling for public liability. 6. Weigh tickets must be returned within five working days of the end of the week of uplift. 7. All timber to be removed from the site by completion date 8. The sale will be subject to the current Mexborough estates standing sales contract 9. The owners and their agents do not bind themselves to accept the highest or any offer. 10. Offers are invited on a through and through price per tonne basis for the standing timber. 11. VAT @ 20% will be applied to the sale of timber. 12. RDI ltd will act as the supervising agent for the site and will control timber uplift, gather weigh tickets and supervise the site.
